The incident happened on Sunday morning, July 2 around 1:30 a.m., when the New York City Police Department followed an alleged robbery crew from Queens on Interstate 95 North.
The vehicle containing the suspects eventually entered Port Chester, where the occupants then stopped and tried running away from officers on foot, according to the Port Chester Police Department.
Two of the suspects were immediately caught and placed into custody, while two more ran behind the Kohl's store at 431 Boston Post Road (US Route 1).
Authorities then set up a perimeter to catch the suspects, in addition to tracking them with a K9 officer. However, these efforts proved unsuccessful as a result of heavy brush and rain, police said.
Still, authorities from the NYPD, Westchester County Police, and surrounding jurisdictions continued the search, which continued to be unsuccessful.
The two suspects still at large are believed to have been involved in numerous armed robberies in the New York City area.
Police said that they believe the duo has fled the area of Port Chester and that there is no concern for village residents at this time.
